Luminess Tan Solution – Is it worth the effort?
According to the TV ads, using the Luminess Tan system can give you a superb tan that will last a fortnight. But can it really and is it worth all the effort and expense? Would you be better off just sticking to lotions and creams?
The adverts I’ve seen say that the Luminess system is a real breakthrough – they make many claims, such as..
The system is easy to use and will give anyone the tanning results they’re looking for.
This is true to a degree – you’re unlikely to get really good results the first time you try – you’re going to need a bit of practice before you can really get accurate control over the airbrush. You wouldn’t go far wrong by getting a friend and practicing on each other before trying the real thing. The pigment included in the solution allows you to see how well the coverage has taken before the actual tan really appears.
The airbrush supplied is accurate enough that you won’t make a mess when spraying and is not the same as the spraying that is undertaken in professional tanning booths.
This is true as long as you’ve had a bit of practice – I managed to make a mess the first couple of times, but then that’s nothing unusual! The controls on the airbrush do allow for fine adjustment of the spray.
The tans are very realistic and can last for up to two weeks.
This is about right – depends how many times you bath or shower – if you’re scrubbing away every day then you’ll be down to a week. Adding moisturising cream can help the tan really take – looks better too.
The tanning solution has been approved by the FDA and gives much better coverage than other self tanning solutions.
The solutions work out more economic than visiting professional tanning studios.
Well I would hope so – otherwise it wouldn’t be much good!
I’ve found the lumpiness tan solution to be a good tanning system – it’s worth trying if you’re not keen on looking like Casper the ghost.
